  • Brynn's secret top 10 Internet stats

Brynn's StatsI really love stats because they give your business insight and leverage.  Here's my top 10 internet stats that will change NZ business:

    1. In 2012 84% of New Zealanders were using the Internet (Auckland University, 2012).  It's essential for businesses to incorporate Internet marketing into their marketing strategies to meet this new online market.
    2. 74% of consumers use a search engine to find local retail or services (Nielsen NetRatings, 2011) so local businesses need to start targetting local customers online using SEO and online advertising.
    3. Less than 30% of NZ businesses have websites (Idealog.co.nz, 2011) so even those with bad websites are doing better than the 70% that still haven't even started yet. There's still copious amounts of opportunity for online business that are being missed by most.
    4. Google owns 93% of the NZ search engine market share (Returnonnow.com, 2012) so your Internet marketing should be targetted to get found on Google.
    5. 75% of users never scroll past the first page of search results (MarketShareHitsLink.com, October 2010) so it's essential that your website show up on the first page of Google.
    6. 54% of Kiwi web users made at least one purchase online in 2012 (Statistics NZ, 2012) so it's time to start selling your products online or offer payment options online to meet customers needs.
    7. More than two out of three Kiwis aged 25-44 now shop online (Statistics NZ, 2012).  Your market is moving online so you have to follow them.
    8. Companies that blog have 97% more inbound links. (HubSpot State of Inbound Marketing Lead Generation Report, 2010). You need good advice for inbound marketing strategies like blogs and e-newsletters because these are becoming the main way that new customers will find you.
    9. Companies with 30 or more landing pages generate 7x more leads than those with fewer than 10 (HubSpot, 2013). This is about strategy. You need to create "optimised landing page" content that convinces clients to use your service or buy from you.
    10. More than 10% of Kiwis use mobile devices to access the Internet (Stat Counter Global Stats, 2013). It's now essential that your website reshapes itself to be viewable on mobile devices.

As you can see there are lots of opportunities but you need good advice to take advantage of them. If you'd like a free consultation with our expert team feel free to book a meeting.
